PROTECT PINAGREALAN CAVE AND THE SURROUNDING CAVES, SPRINGS AND KARST AREA FROM QUARRYING
Pinagrealan Cave and the surrounding area is where our Filipino heroes Andres Bonifacio, the Katipunan & General Emilio Aguinaldo stayed during their fight for freedom at the founding of our great nation. The Japanese Imperial Army used it during the last days of World War II near to their final stand at Ipo Dam. This is a major part of our history.
The area of Pinagrealan is biologically and geologically important. The cave and surrounding karst landscape contains endemic species which are endangered. Speleothems including stalactites, stalagmites, rimstone and calcite straws exist throughout Pinagrealan Cave. There are multiple springs exiting at different points under the mountain (directly beneath the quarrying area).
Spar Development Co., Inc is quarrying and blasting 300 feet from the cave!!
